AFS is an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit
organisation that provides intercultural learning opportunities
to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed
to create a more just and peaceful world.
Live with a local family whilst volunteering for six months on
local community projects dedicated to healthcare, education, social
welfare, human rights and other community development issues. Many
projects are directed towards the problems of homelessness in urban
areas, with a special emphasis on meeting the needs of children.
Placements in South Africa and Ghana, also Latin America. No formal
qualifications necessary; fundraising required.
