Frontier in an environmental conservation and research NGO which works in collaboration with partner institutions in Tanzania, Vietnam, and Madagascar to identify and address urgent conservation issues. Frontier recruits self-funding Research Assistants to take part in long-term conservation projects for 10 weeks or 6 months. Projects focus on threatened tropical ecosystems (rainforest, savanna, coral reef, and mangrove areas); the varied research programme includes biodiversity surveys, disturbance and resource-use assessments, socio-economic work, and practical projects such as environmental education. No prior experience or qualifications are necessary, as full training is provided - leading to a BTEC qualification in Tropical Habitat Conservation.
