Raleigh is a leading educational development charity that enables young people aged 17-24 from all backgrounds and nationalities to make a positive contribution and achieve personal and life skills development Our overseas programmes run for either 5 or ten weeks in Borneo, Costa Rica & Nicaragua or India. Our overseas programmes provide valuable infrastructure for local villages who have very little, as well as contributing to the protection of the environment. In addition to community and environmental projects you will also be able to explore the country’s habitat and test your physical and mental endurance on either the adventure phase (10 week programme) or team-based adventure challenge (5 week programme).Whilst the full programme combining adventure with sustainable community and environmental programmes runs for 10 weeks, you can also choose to join any one or two phases of the programme for just 4 or 7 weeks.
Raleigh also recruits volunteer staff aged 25+ to help manage our overseas programmes. Volunteer staff are selected on the basis of their specialist skills as well as their energy, enthusiasm, teambuilding and motivational skills. Staff positions include programme finance managers, drivers, administrators, medics, interpreters, communications, project managers, builders and mountain leaders.
