Africa Trust Network (ATN) - formally known as St David's (Africa) Trust
Africa Trust network (ATN)[foramlly known as St. David's (Africa) Trust] is an educational trust registered as charity no. 90 by The Charity Commissioners in Gibraltar in 1995. (Gibraltar is a British Crown Colony whose charity legislation is based on similar British legislation and is administered by Charity Commissioners who are responsible to His Excellency The Governor appointed by HM The Queen.) The first group of student volunteers to Morocco in 1994 made their visit under the auspices of St. David's (Crickhowell) Trust which is a Welsh mountain trust registered as a charity with the British Charity Commissioners in London, England. St. David's (Africa) Trust continues to maintain a representative office in Crickhowell where day to day assistance is provided by The Crickhowell Volunteer Bureau. Volunteers are now able to participate in projects in Morocco, Ghana or Mali. (See the web site for more details.) Projects are for a MINIMUM OF THREE MONTHS. The Trust has scholarships for student volunteers from Wales, from Gibraltar and for Catholic students world-wide but especially from Scotland. The auditors for the Trust are PricewaterhouseCoopers andbankers to the Trust are The Royal Bank of Scotland (Gibraltar) Limited and, in Morocco, Citibank Maroc S.A. The Secretary to The Scholarship Board in Gibraltar is Mr Vincent Latin J.P. who is a former Director of Education in Gibraltar. |
