Tabora December 2007
Rebecca Harrison Posted at 2007/11/02 10:52

Hi guys!! I'm on the Tabora project for the beginning of December and just had a few questions.

Firstly, do we need a sleeping bag? I know the kit list says you need one but was just wondering whether it was absolutely essential as I obviously want to travel as light as possible! Secondly, can you buy shampoo, and clothes cleaning stuff out there? I don't want to not take any and then be really smelly, but then it will take up valuable space in my bag!

Also, I will be there over christmas so I would really appreciate any past volunteers filling me in on what happens. Is christmas celebrated? Should we take anything over for the children? Any information really would be great!

Finally, if anyone reading this is also going at that time it would be great to hear from you!!

 Thanks, Becci

Bedding is provided in Tabora and you can buy most things in the town including toiletries and washing powder.

Christmas is celebrated (there are roughly the same number of Christians and Muslims in Tanzania and the communities are closely integrated).
