Topic Bag/Suitcase

Hi guys,  any advice on luggage to take? I'm trying to decide between a large rucksack or suitcase on wheels. Is there much carrying of luggage between places and does anyone have experience of travelling after and can suggest what is easier?

Topic How much Inset repellent?

For past volunteers/travellers - how much Insect Repellent do I need to take? e.g. how long does a 100ml bottle last? I am planning to take Lifesystems Expedition Plus and am guessing a 100ml bottle might last 2-3 weeks so I'd need 4 to be safe for my 10 week stay...

Topic Roaming Sim card

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of using roaming sim cards(e.g. http://www.worldsim.com/)? 35 pounds (inc 10 pounds credit, and no roaming charges). If anyones used one of these (esp. in Tanzania) I'd be interested in hearing any feedback..

Topic Mosquito nets

I know there have been some posts about this already, but as they are quite old I decided I'd better ask again. Do we need to bring the box-shaped mosquito nets with us or are there some already provided in the camp? Thanks, Ciara

Topic Small gifts for children

A couple of volunteers asked me recently about taking gifts. Small gifts for the children are fine (Mwanza and Tabora) and maybe a gift for the school (Singida) like a book or a map or set of pencils.
