HAPA October 2009 update
Moya Cutts Posted at 2009/10/03 01:47

The Volunteer programme is going well. The Mughumbu project is almost
completed now.The remaining works are completion of the plastering works
just after fitting the widows and doors to the walls and  then flooring.Desks making works are going on concurrently. So in one or two weeks most of the works will be finished. It is a challenge what the last group will be doing for the stay till the end. Most of the vols finished  their time seem to enjoy their time stayed in the project/community and promised to help when ever need arise especially recruiting more vols. We tried to explain to the challenges we are facing with small number of vols and they promised to help when they get back home.  But in order to help they need more information about the projects in the internet/website.

We are trying also to think about next year's volunteer project. The problem is anticipation of the number of vols whether will increase or continue decreasing? To start a new project will cost more I think compared to continue working at Mugumbu may be with classroom. The dispensary project design has changed and now demands more funds almost twice of the first structures we used to build. I do not know whether we will get enough funds for such project with the prevailing economic crisis. It is a challenge real.
Anyway we are still working on it.
