Adding photos to Flickr.com<< Back to Volunteers Web-Links Page
At the moment these links go to volunteer's full collection of pictures. We would like to change this so that it is also easy to see pictures by type (i.e. all the project site pictures from Matumbo for 2006). To help us do this can you please, in future, use Fickr's "tagging" feature so that we can link pcitures by time periods & location.
If possible can you please also label pictures with details of what was happening at the time, but do not include names unless you have informed consent (i.e. they know that their name will appear alongside a picture on the internet) from the individuals concerned. Please assume that children can not give informed consent to be named in this way.
We may need to experiment with the tagging but can we try using the format:
matumbo-jun-06 - for pictures taken in the village, project or camp in June 2006 matumbo-jul-06 - for pictures taken in the village, project or camp in July 2006 nkuninkana-jun-06 - for pictures taken in the village, project or camp in June 2006 nkuninkana-jul-06 - for pictures taken in the village, project or camp in July 2006
If possible also label pictures by type i.e. matumbo-camp-06 - for pictures of the camp matumbo-project-06 - for pictures of the project matumbo-village-06 - for general pictures of the village, activities and surrounding area.
Other pictures can be labled by location: daressalaam-06 singida-06 safari-06
In Mwanza we can use a similar system mwanza-06 - for pictures taken in the orphanage, volunteer base or town in 2006 Also adding: mwanza-hisani-06 for pictures taken in the orphanage Hisani-base-06 for pictures taken in the volunter base mwanza-town-06 for other pictures taken in the surrounding area If you have ideas, comments or suggestions about this please let Simon or Moya know. << Back to Volunteers Web-Links Page
